Either location offers excellent hunting opportunities!
Unit 29 is easy to draw your deer license every year.
Our package starts out with a Five Day Archery/Muzzleloader Drop Camp. Our drop camps are best with 2 hunters per camp. We offer a drop camp in restricted access portions of unit 29 in Roosevelt National Forest. These areas are considered remote and are only accessible by horse back or on foot. Each drop camp consists of a wall tent containing cots/mattress, tables, chairs, lights, cooking utensils, wood stoves, propane stoves, fire wood, drinking water, bear proof containers (for food), and a latrine. Hunters need to bring personal gear, food and drinks. There is a 75 lb weight restriction per person on personal gear not including food. Transportation to camp can be by horseback & pack horse and no more than 2 hours to camp. Each camp will be checked, by radio every day during the hunt for game that needs to be packed out. All game taken will need to be brought to a packable location for the pack animals to retrieve and taken to the processor.
Our next option is a Five Day Archery/Gun hunt where we provide lodging and meals. Our 9,200 Lodge has all the amenities which will allow you to relax in the evenings and have our in house chef prepare dinner and breakfast. These hunts will generally have one guide for two hunters and will be around the rut.
Our premium package which includes lodging is for Unit 20, which offers exclusive hunting on over 2,000 acres of private ranch property, along with over 100,000 acres of Roosevelt National Forest bordering Rocky Mtn. National Park, (a non- huntable area.)
Our top package is our fully guided, "one on one", 5-day archery/muzzleloader back-country hunt in Indian Peaks Wilderness area. You will be camping at 10,000 ft and hunting some of the most spectacular country and some of the biggest bull elk in Unit 20. It is not for the faint of heart, this hunt is physically demanding and requires fitness and stamina, however the rewards are great!
All hunts are 5 days in camp with transportation to and from camp the day before and the day after.
Archery season is roughly four weeks long, during which we offer four separate hunts.
The early Rifle seasons are roughly a month long from the second week of October to the third week of November. During this time we offer four separate hunts. All Rifle lodge hunts are 5 days long and are 1 guide per 2 hunters (maximum of 4 hunters per season.) In addition to the regular season, we offer one late elk season in early December. This season typically take about 3-4 preference points to draw the license. This special season was added to help cope with an over abundance of elk in adjacent Rocky Mountain National Park and the local community of Estes Park. Rocky Mountain National Park consists of 265,000 acres of non-huntable land since 1915.Online Hunting Application
